PRAS NEWS & DOWNLOADS
Here are some useful links and articles that we think you will find useful. We aim to change these over time, so if you see anything that you think might be good to share please contact us.
1
FBH Enclosure sizes
The Federation of British Herpetologists (FBH) released a document in May 2022 providing information on a set of recommended minimum enclosure sizes. PRAS was involved in producing the document and supports the document, which hopefully is something we can all work towards.
Check out the document here.

IHS Bearded dragon care
Bearded dragons are one of the most commonly kept pet reptiles in the UK. They're active, charismatic and generally sociable lizards so it's easy to see why they make good pets. The International Herpetological Society (IHS) has put together a good care sheet.
Download the care sheet here.
3
IHS Royal python care
As with bearded dragons, Royal pythons are very commonly kept snakes in the UK and they make great pets.
The IHS care sheet for royal pythons can be downloaded here.

Arcadia lighting guide
Arcadia's website has a useful guide to UV lighting for different species. You can search by species and understand your animal's needs.
5
Quito Vivarium, Ecuador
As some of you may know, Sid recently visited Ecuador, and while there spent time talking to the curator of the Vivarium de Quito, Maria. PRAS are keen to support the Vivarium in their conservation efforts and captive breeding of native Ecuadorian species and we hope to collaborate in the future.
Their website can be found here.
